Meeting to Discuss Issues Impacting Persons with Vision Impairments or Blindness

Equip for Equality (EFE) will be hosting a meeting on Tuesday, October 30, 2018, to discuss legal issues impacting persons with vision impairments or blindness in Illinois. The purpose of the meeting is to solicit input from the blind community on what issues are important in order to provide guidance to Equip for Equality on case acceptance and proactive initiatives. The meeting will take place from 10:30 a.m. until noon at EFE’s offices at 20 North Michigan Ave., Suite 300, Chicago, Illinois 60602. Barry Taylor and Amy Peterson will participate on behalf of EFE. A member of EFE’s staff working on our new Employment Rights Helpline will also discuss the rights and responsibilities of job seekers, requests for accommodations as well as services provided for callers with employment questions or problems. This meeting is open to the public, and all interested persons are encouraged to attend.
