2:00:  Welcome: Access Living & UIC (5 minutes)

2:05: Updates on Community Living Services & Access in Illinois

  • State of Illinois Update on Colbert and Williams Implementation:  
    Ali Johnson, Olmstead Compliance Officer, Illinois Department of Human Services (Invited) (10 minutes)
  • Monitoring Olmstead in Illinois, Colbert and Williams:   Barry Taylor, Equip for Equality (10 minutes)
  • Access Living Perspective on Colbert and Williams Implementation:  Dariusz Barwacz, Access Living (10 minutes)

3:05-3:45: Share stories & ideas for future Olmstead planning and systems changes (30-40 minutes)

  • Panel with Olmstead participants with UIC PAR students supporting  (highlight people in and out of nursing home, in Williams and Colbert to compare needed resources & supports)

3:45-4:15:  Open Forum with Participants (30 minutes)

4:15-4:30:   Disability Integration Act update & action planning:
Ryan McGraw & Angel Miles, Access Living (15 minutes)

4:30-5:00:    Networking & Refreshments: food and drinks

This Town Hall will be held at Access Living at 115 W. Chicago Ave., Chicago, IL 60654.  Access Living is accessible, is a scent-free environment and will provide ASL and CART services. For other requests for accommodation please contact:   cris.johnson@accessliving.org
