Topic:  On July 25, 2019, the Cannabis Regulation & Tax Act was signed into law. In addition to decriminalizing possession of cannabis, the Act has been heralded as the most equity-centric legislation in the country in part because it creates processes to address past cannabis convictions through expungement. Equip for Equality is providing information about the rights of people with disabilities under this law through the New Leaf Illinois program generously funded by the Illinois Equal Justice Foundation. Presenters for this session will be Equip for Equality attorneys Kelsey Burgess, Annie Gallerano, and Barry C. Taylor.
